Prösels Castle - picture fireplace room

Prösels Castle

Fireplace Room

In Leonhard's times this was the only room which could be heated with an open fire. Therefore Leonhard made this room particularly comfortable. Please note the large and beautiful windows. On the southeast wall there are two large wardrobes with inlaid work, that were probably given to the castle by a grandson of Leonhard's time is the chest standing against the opposite wall.
The so-called ''Batzenhäusl Collection'' is exhibited in the following rooms. This collection contains paintings and drawings from the so-called ''Munich School''. Around 1900 the Batzenhäusl in Bozen/Bolzano was a favourite meeting place for artists belonging to this school. The owners of this inn, Mr. and Mrs. Trebo collected these paintings, drawings and sculptures.
